Head, Go to Market for Watson Health HybridFollowing BS in Electrical Engineering, Erdoğan earned his MS at The Ohio State University (OSU) by doing
research at Cleveland Clinic Hospital utilizing computer vision for the detection of fractures in artificial
heart valves. Later, his PhD at OSU was about solving computer vision problems using artificial intelligence
inspired by human visual system. Finally, he received his MBA from University of Chicago with
concentrations on strategy, marketing, & finance.
Having joined GE in 1999, Erdoğan took different leadership roles in R&D, marketing, business
development & ventures. While being mainly in healthcare, his industry experience has spanned across
energy, transportation and related infrastructure sectors. He assumed several global roles in the US and
regional roles covering Europe, Middle East & Africa while working in France and Turkey. His last role at GE
was with GE Ventures when he moved back to the US, to drive investment into breakthrough technologies.
In 2018, Erdoğan opened a new chapter in his career by joining IBM Watson Health (WH). In this role, he
established & led Channels, Partnerships & International marketing for IBM WH, Cambridge, MA. As of
August 2019, Erdoğan was promoted to be the go-to-market leader for the new cloud-agnostic platform
for health as well as its ecosystem of clients and partners to solve challenging problems of healthcare.
Recently, he has joined Honeywell as the General Manager for Breakthrough Initiatives for Sensing & IoT,
Honeywell. His team including R&D, marketing, offering management, & sales aimed to initiate new
product lines / business hitting triple digit revenues in 3 years. Having incubated the first product, he has
been promoted to be the GM for the brand-new business established to digitize air for health.
In his spare time, Erdoğan volunteers at high school entrepreneurship programs in local communities, e.g.
TEDxYouth, at local and international entrepreneurship programs e.g. GirVak & TTGV in Turkey, at
incubators, e.g. MassChallenge, MassBio.DH mainly in the areas of healthcare, industrials, & AI.
Erdoğan is married to Tülin. Their favorite activity is to teach and learn from their 19 years old daughter,
Erin Alaz, and 15 years old son, Artun Berk. & Multicloud Ecosystem at IBM Watson Health
